This Week on Proto Blast #39
Hi, everyone! Welcome to another weekly recap of Proto Blast development :)
As I posted in the
previous entry, I spent this week with stuffs about upgrading my machine to SSD and configuring Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenial Xerus. Expect more details on later post. For now, err.. I got to say, nothing much was going with the project this week XD
Since it is a fresh install of a new version of Ubuntu, I needed to reconfigure many things, including installing the softwares that I use. And one of them is, of course, GDevelop, that I use to develop Proto Blast. On 14.04 LTS, I installed GDevelop via PPA. However, currently, there is no build available for Xenial yet.
No Build for Xenial
I tried to install the Trusty version by downloading the .deb file, but even though it was successfully installed, it gave me error when I tried to run it.
Well, the other option is installing from source. I grabbed the zip file from GDevelop's
GitHub page, installed the libraries needed as listed on the
documentation, and followed the
steps to build it.
Building...
... Success!
Level 3, Continues! Oops, this part might be tricky ;)
And voila, it runs :)
At least it works for now. And then, I started using it to continue working on the design of the third level. I also edited the water sprites to make it look more transparent. It is the element that will have a special system :)
And, well.. I think that's as much as I can tell you for now. Stay tuned for the next recap :)
